Deborah Kala Perkins
Kala is an astronomer and educator working at the science-culture nexus. Her career began at Columbia University in Peace and Conflict Studies, where she developed curriculum for bioethical international relations. She spent a decade with Asian NGOs, including the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, building cross-cultural bridges. Following ten years of astrophysics research in Australia (ANU), she returned to the US to complete Masters in Bioethics (Loyola Marymount) and an MDiv (GTU). A member of the AAS, IAU, and COSPAR, she currently conducts doctoral research in Space Diplomacy and Sustainability, sharing the universe’s beauty and the awesomeness of life globally.
